This is Die Drei Kantoren’s second CD, consisting of Chazzanut, Yiddish and Chasidic melodies, Israeli songs, and Sepharadic piyutim – all in original arrangements. We are happy to feature some wonderful guest artists who made this second album even richer in sound and inspiration. Two of the pieces in this album – Pitchu Li and Elu Dvarim – were composed especially for us by our very own Ido Ben-Gal and Assaf Levitin. Our dozens of concerts in Jewish communities and in festivals in Germany and abroad motivated us to get back into the recording studio as quickly as possible. For this we are very thankful.

The waterpipe plays a sprinkling song,
The waterpipes are the Negev’s veins.
This is how the song goes,
From the faucet to the clods of the land.
The groundwater shall rise up!
The pump calls for bread!
Negev, Negev, what has come over you?
Negev, the sprinkles are coming!
Spin, spin, oh sprinkler,
Spread your pearls of light,
Spin and spray water!
A tree shall cheer in the field,
The land shall give its fruit
Even tough no rain falls from the sky.
The whole area is captured,
The waterpipes spread their net,
And here comes a sign,
A rainbow shows among the drops.
The covenant of the flower and the field,
The covenant of the silence and the song,
Sprinkler, your song is beautiful!
Sing it and never stop!
